There are many strongly important elites a vet possesses to be better able to perform his/her job and not all can be learned. Before even going to school to study for vet school one must possess basic qualities: compassion, good decision making skills, communication skills, manual dexterity, and very strong problem solving skills. Vet school has always been a huge goal of mine and while further researching this field feel even more compelled to follow this dream.

Although there are some things need to improve on have discovered have many of the basic skills needed before veterinary school. Since a child I have had a strong compassion for animals and when becoming vet guarantee that compassion can reach towards the owners (necessity). I need to improve my decision making skills because I tend to get overwhelmed when have an abundance of choices, but when deciding on a treatment it will be easier to choose because I will have the ability to narrow down my choices according to the symptoms.

Communication is also a necessity and THAT, I am extremely skilled with. Being very skilled with the hands, manual dexterity, is needed for setting fractures and other medical procedures. Animals are also sensitive with how they are handled and a entitle hand can determine the ultimate outcome of the experience and what the animal takes from it. Am also skilled in this area and have spent much time handling a wide variety of animals of all breeds (from birds to horses). Eave worked to improve the necessary skills and experience since about age 12 because knew for a fact that I was going to put forth all my effort to become a vet and do whatever means possible (while keeping my dignity intact). Being a vet doesn’t mean good money. It means being what stands between what could be a cheerful puppy’s life or its last breath. Know that hen I finally achieve my dream, I will do whatever can to save an animal’s life or improve its life in anyway necessary.

The life of a vet seems great in many ways to me even though there are a few downfalls would still enjoy the career very much. I will eventually progress to working with larger animals, but for now a small animal vet seems like a wonderful dream to me. Becoming a vet tech is my first goal because I can do my core classes at GRACE while I work with a veterinarian to get my vet tech certificate (no school needed). To become a vet I would have to go to school for undergraduate lasses for 4 years, so it makes sense to work on my vet tech certificate during that time while I go to school.

Hospitals or local practices are also available in most areas. Many new graduates tend to go to hospitals first. This job really interests me because I enjoy working with people and I always want to help others as much as I can. When was a freshman in high school my sister was a freshmen at San Marco’s and was studying to become a Sports Medicine Trainer. Have always looked up to her and we have always had similar interests. I looked into Sports Medicine and found it quite interesting but I knew I would not be able to handle that much pressure.

Later in my freshman year, my knees started to bother me while I was dancing so I went to an orthopedic surgeon to get a diagnosis. I noticed the physical therapists office across the lobby but did not know anything about them. When got home I began to research physical therapy and found it really interesting. I took anatomy and physiology in high school and fell in love with learning how the body moves. I am now in my third year at community college and I still have one more year before plan on transferring to San Marco’s Sinology program.

From there I plan to get my master’s, possibly Loam Linda, and my PhD from SST. Augustine in San Marco’s or Loam Linda. San Marco’s will help set up an internship at the new hospital in Teammate and I am hoping to get a job there while finish up my education. Eventually I plan to open my own private practice, possibly specialize in a sport and work with athletes or work with the armed forces. Looking more into working for the armed forces, I could either enlist as an officer or work as a civilian.

Enlisting as an officer would involve going through Asia combat training, advanced individual training, and officer schooling. If I were to work as a civilian according to Henderson, many civilians hold two jobs. Rather than only working for the military they tend to work at other practices or hospitals in the area. I feel I would also have to be very positive to help all the military men and women stay positive and keep working hard. Another issue with enlisting would be getting certified in each state. According to Henderson a therapist must be certified in the state before they are able to start practicing.
